Teacher Arrested Over Alleged Misconduct with Student

Oro Valley, Arizona (July 28, 2021) — Oro Valley is grappling with unsettling news as local authorities have arrested Mark Lindrud, a former teacher at Ironwood Ridge High School, over serious allegations. Detectives from the Oro Valley Police Department traveled to Aurora, Colorado, to detain Lindrud after a warrant was issued for multiple counts of sexual conduct with a minor.

Back in 2002-2003, Lindrud was a teacher at Ironwood Ridge High School, part of the Amphitheater School District. Investigators say the misconduct began when the victim, then 14, was one of his students. At the time of his arrest, Lindrud was working for the Aurora Public School District.

The Oro Valley Police Department worked closely with the Aurora Police Department to apprehend Lindrud. He is currently in custody at the Aurora Detention Center on a million-dollar bond, awaiting extradition to Pima County.

For now, only one victim has come forward. Authorities urge anyone with information about this case or similar incidents to reach out to the Oro Valley Police Department at (520) 229-4900. Community cooperation is vital as the investigation continues.
