Oro Valley Police Sergeant Faces Citation

Oro Valley Police Department Sergeant Jose Sanchez recently found himself cited by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department. This citation was due to an incident that occurred while he was off-duty on September 6, 2022, where he left the scene of a collision. OVPD couldn’t share details with the community until the Pima County Sheriff’s Department wrapped up their criminal investigation.

For anyone curious about the specifics of that investigation, reaching out directly to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department is your best bet. Meanwhile, OVPD is conducting its own investigation to see if any department policies were violated. They expressed gratitude to PCSD for handling the situation with professionalism.

Chief Kara Riley emphasized that OVPD is dedicated to transparency. Now that the investigation has concluded, she assured the community that they are being kept in the loop. She stated, “The trust of our community is vitally important to us, and we will always strive to maintain that trust.”
