Life isn’t just about the daily grind of work and chores. Sometimes, we get so caught up in our to-do lists that we forget to stop and enjoy the beauty around us. But there are folks who see life differently. They take the time to appreciate the world and bring joy to our everyday lives through their creativity—the artists.
Artists remind us to stop and look at the world in new ways. They add color and inspiration to our lives, and without them, we’d miss out on so much. Unfortunately, artists often don’t get the recognition they deserve. Balancing family, work, and finances makes it hard for them to focus on their art. And often, their hard work is met with little more than a nod of appreciation.
Communities are starting to support artists by forming collectives and providing gallery spaces. Art fairs are becoming more popular as well, giving artists a platform to share their work and connect with the community.
One such event is the Oro Valley Festival of the Arts, a wonderful opportunity to meet the creative minds shaping the Tucson-area arts scene. This festival is a community favorite, featuring local food vendors offering delights like frybread and tacos, alongside performances by local students and musicians. There’s something for everyone, including activities for the kids.
Don’t miss the tree lighting ceremony or the opportunity to meet Santa. Whether you’re enjoying a meal, exploring unique vendor offerings, or getting to know local businesses, this festival is a perfect way to experience the spirit of Oro Valley.
The festival usually takes place over two days, from December 3-4. It’s family-friendly and offers an atmosphere that’s just as lively as the 4th Avenue Street Fair, but with a more relaxed and safe vibe for all ages.
