Did you know that in Oro Valley, elections are often decided in the primary round? It’s true! As we gear up for this year’s primary election, here’s some handy information to keep in mind.
The elections here are organized by the Pima County Recorder’s Office. This year, three Oro Valley Town Council seats are up for grabs, with four candidates vying for your vote on the primary ballot. If you’re an independent voter or haven’t designated a party, you’ll need to choose your ballot preference with the Pima County Recorder’s Office. Without a party selection, you won’t receive a primary ballot unless you opt for a party or the city/town-only ballot.
Make sure to mark your calendars and get ready to have your say in the 2024 elections!
Here are some key dates:
The Primary Election results will be out by July 30, and they could potentially decide our Town Council members if any candidate secures a majority vote (that’s 50% plus one of all votes cast). If no candidate hits this majority mark, the remaining contenders will proceed to the General Election ballot.
