Oro Valley Aquatic Center Closing for Upgrades
Heads up, Oro Valley! The Aquatic Center will be taking a short break from December 5 through the end of January 2023 for some much-needed upgrades and maintenance.
The pool’s current filters are getting a modern makeover with new deep bed filters that promise top-notch water quality. To fit these new filters, the pump room’s plumbing will be redesigned and expanded to the east, but don’t worry—there’s no loss of deck space. Plus, the Recreational Pool will soon enjoy a highly efficient new heater, bringing all pool facilities up to modern standards.
The Town is seizing this opportunity to tackle extra projects laid out in the Parks and Recreation Master Plan. These replacements are funded as Capital Improvement Projects in the Fiscal Year 2022/23 budget.
We know there’s never an ideal time for a closure, but this period is the least busy, minimizing the inconvenience. Thank you for your understanding as we strive to enhance your experience at the Aquatic Center. For more details and weekly updates, visit here and scroll to “Aquatic Center Improvements.”
