Discover Oro Valley’s Parks and Rec Month Celebration

Oro Valley Celebrates Park and Recreation Month

Hello, Oro Valley! We’re kicking off July in a fresh and exciting way. Our lovely town is joining the rest of the country in celebrating Park and Recreation Month, as proclaimed by our very own Mayor, Joseph C. Winfield. This is a wonderful opportunity to appreciate the many benefits our parks bring to the community.

Parks and recreation are vital to our well-being. They promote physical and mental health by encouraging us to spend time outdoors. Whether you’re into hiking, swimming, or simply enjoying a walk in the park, there’s something for everyone. Spending time in nature boosts cognitive performance and well-being, helping with conditions like depression and attention deficit disorders.

Beyond health benefits, our parks also play a key role in boosting the local economy. They enhance property values, expand the tax base, attract tourists, and even help in reducing crime. Our parks are beautiful spaces that support local businesses and make Oro Valley a vibrant place to live.

Mayor Winfield encourages everyone to explore our local parks. It’s a great time to connect with nature, whether you’re with family, friends, or enjoying some peaceful solitude.

Let’s make the most of Park and Recreation Month by getting outdoors and enjoying all that Oro Valley has to offer.
