As the monsoon season kicks off this week, Oro Valley is ready to support residents in staying dry and safe. The town is again offering free sandbags to help protect your home from storm runoff.
You can pick up sandbags at 9451 N. Egleston Drive, right behind the fields at James D. Kriegh Park. For more details, check out this map or click here. The sandbags are available from Monday, June 17, through September 30, 2024, and you can get them between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.
Supplies are limited to Oro Valley residents, with a cap of 10 sandbags per vehicle. You’ll need to bring your own shovel since the bags and sand are self-service. However, if you need a hand, you can arrange to pick up pre-bagged sand by appointment. For this, or any questions, contact the Stormwater Utility at 520-229-4850 or email [email protected].
The Oro Valley Stormwater Utility is committed to keeping our washes clear and handling any flood issues. We’re pleased to provide this sandbag service. If you spot any water quality or flooding problems, please reach out at 520-229-4850 (option 3) or email [email protected].
