Celebrate National Arts and Humanities Month in Oro Valley
October is National Arts and Humanities Month, and there’s no better time for us in Oro Valley to come together and celebrate the incredible role these fields play in our lives. The pandemic has hit the arts community hard, with nearly all events canceled at some point. Nonetheless, the arts have been a beacon of hope, lifting our spirits and bringing us together.
The arts and humanities don’t just enrich our souls; they also boost our economy. The nonprofit arts industry generates a whopping $166.3 billion annually, providing millions of jobs and contributing significantly to government revenue. If you’ve ever spent money on a meal or parking while attending an arts event, you’re part of the $31.47 average spent per person that benefits local businesses.
Mayor Joseph C. Winfield has officially proclaimed October as National Arts and Humanities Month here in Oro Valley. He invites everyone in our community to celebrate and support the arts. Let’s participate, enjoy, and promote the cultural richness that enhances our lives and strengthens our community.
