Exciting Weekend of Events in Oro Valley for a Great Cause
Oro Valley is gearing up for a special weekend on March 2-3, all in support of veterans. We’re teaming up with Project Echelon, a non-profit that champions the health and well-being of veterans through cycling. They recently celebrated a win at the Tucson Bicycle Classic, which partly took place right here in Oro Valley.
Kick off your Saturday, March 2, by joining us for a fundraising golf tournament at our beautiful El Conquistador Golf Course. That evening, the excitement continues with Project Echelon’s very first formal gala at the Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort and Spa.
Then, on Sunday, March 3, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., local cycling enthusiasts can enjoy a casual ride alongside the pro cyclists of Project Echelon. The route, created in partnership with the Town of Oro Valley and Marana, showcases the stunning landscapes of our communities.
Eric Hill, the executive director of Project Echelon, shares his enthusiasm, saying, “The Fondo Weekend is a fantastic opportunity for cyclists to come together, challenge themselves, and enjoy the beauty of northern Pima County.”
This weekend isn’t just about biking and fun; it’s a great boost for Oro Valley. Visitors will book our hotels, try our golf courses, and enjoy meals at our local eateries, all while supporting our veterans.
While the gala and golf tournament registrations have wrapped up, you can still register for the Gran Fondo ride. It’s $50 and open until 11:59 p.m. on February 29, 2024. There are routes for every age and skill level. To sign up, head over to Project Echelon’s Gala Registration page.
Info for Motorists
