Press Release

Traffic Light Changes at La Cañada & Naranja: Feb. 18-20

Heads Up, Oro Valley Drivers! Traffic Signal Changes Ahead

Hey Oro Valley! If you frequently drive along La Cañada Drive, here’s something you’ll want to know. The Town’s Public Works Department is tweaking the traffic signals at the intersection with Naranja Drive. This is all about making the area safer, as those unprotected left turns are being phased out. Soon, left turns will only happen with a green arrow.

Mark your calendars for the changes happening from February 18 to 20. During this time, expect some lane restrictions on La Cañada Drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on February 19 and 20. Don’t worry, Naranja Drive traffic won’t be impacted. Just keep an eye out for signs guiding you through the area, and remember to slow down to keep everyone safe.

Here’s a quick rundown of what’s happening:

Tuesday, February 18:
Town workers will be setting up off the road on the northwest and southeast corners of the intersection. Traffic should flow smoothly without any disruptions.

Wednesday, February 19:
Expect some lane closures on La Cañada Drive as town personnel close certain northbound and southbound lanes. Check out the maps linked below to see exactly which lanes are affected.

Thursday, February 20:
On this day, southbound traffic won’t face any restrictions, but there will be more northbound lane closures. Again, the maps will show you the details.

We know this might be a bit inconvenient, and we’re sorry for that. Please plan your travel accordingly. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out at [email protected].
