Oro Valley Launches Storm Clean-Up for Public Safety

Oro Valley Steps Up Storm Clean-Up

After several strong storms recently swept through Oro Valley, our local Public Works and Parks and Recreation Departments are hard at work tidying up. They aim to wrap up all clean-up operations within the next two weeks.

The top priority is everyone’s safety. Right after the storms, Public Works crews have been busy in the evenings clearing debris and fallen trees on the roads. Their efforts ensure a safe drive for all. They’re also focusing on areas with potential safety hazards like dangling tree limbs. Once these are taken care of, they’ll turn their attention to public spaces, including Town-owned golf courses, to clear any remaining debris.

If all goes well with the weather, the clean-up should be finished by the first week of September.

Keep in mind, this focus on storm clean-up might push back regular right-of-way maintenance by a couple of weeks.

With monsoon season still underway, stay alert. If you spot a tree blocking the road or touching power lines, dial 911. Alternatively, you can reach the Town of Oro Valley Public Works Department at 520-229-4850. It’s important to steer clear of any downed power lines and heed all road closure signs.
