The Town of Oro Valley Public Works Department has announced plans for pavement preservation work from October 4 to November 5, 2021. This schedule is, of course, weather permitting.
Keeping our roads in tip-top shape is a top priority, and the town is committed to maintaining an Overall Condition Index (OCI) rating of 76 or better. Instead of waiting for roads to wear down, the town uses a data-driven approach to decide which streets need attention first. By doing this, we can extend the life of our roads and save money in the long run.
Please remember, once a road is treated, you won’t be able to drive on it for 24 hours. If your trash pick-up is affected, don’t worry—there will be a designated area just outside the treatment zone for your trash bins. We kindly ask residents to plan accordingly, pay attention to the posted signs, and be mindful of the construction workers in the area.
If you have any questions or need more details, feel free to reach out to Civil Engineering Technician Walter Jackson at 520-940-1879.
Here’s a quick look at the areas scheduled for treatment:
– Vistoso Highlands Subdivision
– Somerset Canyon
– Riverfront Park Multi-Use Path: Mark your calendars for October 26.
– Oro Valley Town Hall Phase 3: The parking lot at the Town Hall complex, including the Police Department and Administration, is set for treatment on October 25. La Cañada Drive entrance will be closed, so use the library entrance on Naranja Drive instead.
– Sun City Vistoso: For detailed maps, refer to Map A for Units 3, 3A, 5, 6, and 7, and Map B for Unit 12.
Stay informed and keep our community running smoothly by planning ahead!
