Grant Boosts OVPD Efforts to Reduce Dangerous Driving

Oro Valley Police Department Enhances Road Safety with New Vehicle

Good news for the residents of Oro Valley! The Oro Valley Police Department (OVPD) has secured a generous $64,528 grant from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (AZGOHS). This funding is being used to purchase a new vehicle designed to tackle hazardous driving behaviors that often lead to collisions.

This new addition will be a familiar sight on the main roads of the town. It’s not only there to enforce traffic rules but also to respond to the community’s concerns about road safety. The goal is to create a safer driving environment for everyone in Oro Valley by addressing issues like speeding, reckless driving, and distractions behind the wheel.

A big thank you goes out to the AZGOHS Director, Alberto Gutier, and his team for their ongoing support in making Oro Valley’s roads safer for everyone. Their partnership with OVPD is a vital part of our community’s efforts to prevent unnecessary injuries and fatalities.
