Get Free Sandbags: Oro Valley Prepares for Monsoon Season

Get Ready for Monsoon Season in Oro Valley!

It’s that time of year again! June 15 marks the start of monsoon season here in Southern Arizona, and Oro Valley is here to help you prepare. Starting today, the town is offering free sandbags to residents to help protect homes from storm runoff.

You can pick up sandbags anytime during the 2021 monsoon season, or while supplies last. Just a heads-up—this offer is for Oro Valley residents only. You’ll need to fill and load the sandbags yourself, and there’s a limit of 10 per vehicle.

Where to Get Your Sandbags
Head to Naranja Park at 810 W. Naranja Drive. Look for signs directing you to the “Christmas tree recycling lot,” located just north of the archery range.

If you need help picking up sandbags, you can schedule an appointment with the Town Staff for pre-bagged sand. To set up a time or if you have any questions, reach out to the Stormwater Utility staff at 520-229-4850 or email [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]).
