Oro Valley’s Fourth of July Celebration: Join the Fun!

Celebrate July 4th at James D. Kriegh Park!

Get ready for a fun-filled Independence Day celebration at James D. Kriegh Park in Oro Valley! Starting at 5 p.m., this free event includes live entertainment and activities for the whole family. The night will wrap up with a spectacular laser light show at 9 p.m. instead of fireworks.

The event is proudly sponsored by Lisa Bayless of Long Realty, with support from El Conquistador Tucson, a Hilton Resort, and Hughes Federal Credit Union. Tucson Local Media is our print media sponsor.

Event Details

– When: Monday, July 4 from 5 – 9:15 p.m.
– Where: James D. Kriegh (JDK) Park, 23 W. Calle Concordia

Parking Information

Plenty of parking is available at JDK Park, the east and west lots of Oro Valley Aquatic Center, Canyon Del Oro High School, and Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene. If you park at CDO High School or the church, follow pathway markers and fences to reach the event. Check out our detailed parking map for more information.

If you’re nearby, consider walking over to avoid traffic.

Event Lineup

– 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.: DJ music
– 6:15 – 7:15 p.m.: “The Petty Breakers” (Tom Petty cover band)
– 7:15 – 8:00 p.m.: Games and entertainment with Frank!Powers
– 8:00 – 8:55 p.m.: “The Petty Breakers” return to the stage
– 8:55 – 9:00 p.m.: Welcome from Mayor Joe Winfield
– 9:00 – 9:17 p.m.: Laser light show by Great Productions

Please note, the laser light show can only be seen from the event site.

Free Activities

Enjoy jumping castles, face painting, kids’ crafts, a photo booth, lawn games, and community vendor booths.

Oro Valley Aquatic Center

Take advantage of reduced admission from 5 – 8:30 p.m. with $1 tickets for children and $3 for adults. Dive into fun with our splash pad, waterslide, and diving boards. Note, the Aquatic Center will be closed from noon to 5 p.m. to set up for the event.

Food and Drinks

Food trucks will be around to satisfy your cravings, and the Oro Valley Sports Alliance will offer beer and wine for purchase.

Stay Safe

Remember, it could be quite warm, so bring water, sunscreen, and find some shade. If you forget, don’t worry! Free water and sunscreen are available at hydration stations. For everyone’s safety, some items are not allowed at the event. Please check the rules upon arrival.
