Oro Valley Shines with Top Financial Reporting Award Again!
For the 27th consecutive year, Oro Valley has earned the prestigious Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. This award comes from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) and recognizes the town’s outstanding comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR). This is the highest honor in government accounting and financial reporting, marking a significant achievement for our community.
The Town’s Finance Department also received the Award of Financial Reporting Achievement for their key role in preparing the CAFR. Chief Financial Officer, David Gephart, expressed his gratitude, noting the importance of providing accurate and clear financial information to residents. He shared, “It’s always our goal to produce accurate, timely, and clear financial information to the public, and the award from GFOA provides external validation that we are hitting the mark.”
An impartial panel reviewed the CAFR, ensuring it met the high standards of the program. This includes a commitment to transparency and a “spirit of full disclosure,” helping to clearly communicate Oro Valley’s financial story.
