Oro Valley’s Budget Guide and National Awards
Residents of Oro Valley can now easily access the Know Your Town’s Budget document online. This handy two-page guide is perfect for anyone who wants a quick overview of how the town plans to use its funds this year. It’s part of Oro Valley’s effort to make financial info clear and accessible. You can check out the latest budget summary for the fiscal year 2023/24 here.
The Town Council adopted a $148.5 million budget for FY 2023/24, which is slightly up from last year. This budget is carefully planned to cover important areas like public safety and recreation, and it ensures we stay financially strong without deficit spending. In fact, Oro Valley holds the highest bond rating in Southern Arizona at AA+.
In addition to keeping our finances in check, Oro Valley has also received two national awards for its financial reports. The town’s Popular Annual Financial Report (PAFR) for 2022 has been recognized for outstanding achievement by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). This makes it the ninth year in a row we’ve received this honor. You can view the PAFR here.
Our Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) also earned a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the 29th consecutive year. This is the highest recognition in governmental accounting. You can take a look at the ACFR here.
