Celebrate Oro Valley’s 50th Anniversary at JDK Park This Saturday!
This Saturday, April 13, 2024, Oro Valley is rolling out the red carpet for its 50th Anniversary Community Celebration, and you’re invited! The festivities kick off at noon at James D. Kriegh Park, located at 23 W. Calle Concordia, and wrap up with a dazzling fireworks finale at 9:30 p.m. For more details about the event and parking, check the links in this article.
This free event is perfect for the whole family. Expect live performances, crafts and games for the kids, photo booths, and jumping castles. Feeling hungry? A fantastic lineup of food trucks will be on-site, serving up both non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks, alongside a variety of tasty treats.
Do take note of some street closures around JDK Park from 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on the day. For a detailed map of the event and parking areas, click here.
Our schedule is packed with entertainment on the main stage. Local talent will perform from noon to 6:15 p.m., followed by family-friendly entertainment from Frank!-Powers at 7:45 p.m. Don’t miss Voyager, our headliner and Journey cover band, with performances at 6:45 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Mayor Joe Winfield will make a special appearance at 9:15 p.m., just before the fireworks begin.
As you enjoy the festivities, explore Oro Valley’s history with a special timeline display highlighting key moments from the past 50 years. Plus, be sure to check out the new mural by artist Ashley White on the south and west sides of the Aquatic Center—it’s a vibrant tribute to our community’s journey.
Plan ahead for parking. Designated spaces are available off Calle Concordia at the Oro Valley Aquatic Center and Canyon del Oro High School.
Remember, the intersection of Linda Vista Boulevard and Egleston Drive will be closed from 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., and Egleston Dr. will have limited pedestrian access from 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. during the fireworks.
