Oro Valley’s Path to the Future: Join the Conversation
The Town of Oro Valley, in collaboration with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), is excited to invite community members to an open house event. This gathering will focus on sharing information and gathering your thoughts on a brand-new multi-use path slated to enhance Naranja Drive. Mark your calendars for Tuesday, February 13, and come to the Oro Valley Council Chambers from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
This project aims to construct a two-mile, 10-foot-wide path along the north side of Naranja Drive, stretching from La Cañada Drive to First Avenue. The path is designed to make it easier for pedestrians and cyclists to get around, improving access to local jobs and essential services.
Thanks to a successful application for federal funding through the Pima Association of Governments (PAG) Regional Transportation Alternatives Grants (RTAG), the project has been awarded a whopping $3.449 million. Additionally, the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) has chipped in $208,930, covering the entire project cost. Funding was officially approved on November 3, 2022.
The open house will be an informal affair where people can freely ask questions, share thoughts, and learn about the project. Project team members will be on hand to discuss design concepts and gather your input. Expect to see informative displays rather than formal presentations.
If you can’t make it, don’t worry! You can still participate by visiting the ADOT website to find additional materials and an online form to submit your questions and comments.
