Exciting Changes Coming to Naranja Park’s Dog Area!
Good news, Oro Valley dog lovers! This fall, the Town of Oro Valley will be sprucing up the large dog park at Naranja Park with some fresh turf.
Our beloved Naranja Park features three distinct areas: one for small pups, another specially designed for elderly or less mobile dogs, and a third for our larger furry friends. While the small and elderly dog areas already have lush grass surfaces, the large dog section currently has a sand mixture. But not for long!
To get the new turf laid down properly, the large dog park will need to close for a bit. But don’t worry, only this section will be closed. The other two areas for small and elderly dogs will stay open during the revamp. If you have a large dog, you’re welcome to head over to the dog park at James D. Kriegh Park during this time.
Matthew Jankowski, Interim Parks and Recreation Director, expressed his excitement about the upgrade, saying, “We are thrilled to make these improvements that our users have asked for. This new turf and our maintenance plan will make sure the park is a great place for everyone.”
