Oro Valley, Arizona (April 15, 2021) – Good news for community groups and organizations in Oro Valley! The town has rolled out a brand new program called *Keep OV Beautiful*, designed to help keep our streets clean and inviting. Whether you’re a small group of friends or a large organization, you can choose a day that suits you to participate in litter pick-up activities. Once you’re all set up, the Town’s Public Works Department will supply you with everything you need, including safety vests, pick-up tools, and trash bags. After your hard work is done, town staff will come by the next business day to collect and dispose of the trash you’ve gathered.
Mayor Joe Winfield shares, “A few pieces of litter can really take away from our area’s natural beauty. Unfortunately, litter tends to attract more litter. But the great news is, clean spaces encourage more cleanliness. Picking up litter is a simple yet powerful way to make a difference. So, I invite everyone to join me in this effort to Keep OV Beautiful.”
Litter isn’t just ugly. It can also pose safety risks for drivers and harm local wildlife. That’s why it’s so important for everyone to dispose of trash properly, keep trash can lids secured, and make sure trash bags are tied up to prevent spills.
HOW TO REGISTER
Getting involved with *Keep OV Beautiful* is a breeze!
Group organizers will work with the Town of Oro Valley staff to decide on the time and location for their clean-up event. It’s also important to ensure that all volunteers complete the registration process. Each volunteer needs to confirm they’ve received, read, and understood the Keep OV Beautiful volunteer packet.
