Join a Board or Commission in Oro Valley

Hey Oro Valley residents! Here’s your chance to make a difference in our lovely community by joining a board or commission. The town is looking for residents who are eager to lend their time and expertise. To qualify, you need to live in Oro Valley, attend scheduled meetings, and complete the Town’s Community Academy during your term. The first application review deadline is October 15, 2021. Board of Adjustment

We have one opening on the Board of Adjustment (BOA), a quasi-judicial board that deals with zoning issues and administrative decisions. This position lasts for two years. The BOA meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 3 p.m. whenever needed.

Budget and Finance Commission

Got a knack for numbers? The Budget and Finance Commission (BFC) is looking for someone to fill a two-year term. This commission advises the Town Council on financial matters, from budget reviews to financial audits. Applicants need a background in fields like accounting or finance. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of the month at 4 p.m.

Historic Preservation Commission

The Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) has a three-year term spot open. If you love local history, this is your chance to preserve our town’s heritage. HPC meetings happen on the first Monday of each month at 5 p.m.

Parks and Recreation Advisory Board

With two open positions, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board (PRAB) is seeking enthusiastic members. The board advises on parks, recreation, and open space issues. This two-year term involves at least four meetings annually, all starting at 6 p.m.

Stormwater Utility Commission

Interested in environmental issues? The Stormwater Utility Commission (SWUC) is looking for someone to serve a two-year term. This commission focuses on flood control and stormwater quality. They meet on the third Thursday of the month at 4 p.m.

Water Utility Commission

Lastly, the Water Utility Commission (WUC) needs a new member for a three-year term to guide water policies and conservation efforts. Meetings occur on the second Monday of each month at 5 p.m.
