Oro Valley Celebrates Child Support Awareness Month
In August Oro Valley joins communities nationwide in recognizing Child Support Awareness Month. This annual observance highlights the vital role that child support services play in strengthening the economic stability and well being of Arizona’s children. By ensuring both emotional and financial support, we help young people feel secure and confident as they grow.
Why Child Support Matters
Research shows that children who receive consistent child support perform better in school, have healthier relationships and experience less stress at home. Financial assistance can cover basics like nutritious meals, clothing and school supplies. Emotional support from both parents encourages confidence and resilience. Together these elements lay the foundation for children to reach their full potential.
Shared parenting responsibilities foster stronger bonds between children and both parents. When each parent contributes time and resources, children benefit from a balanced support network that promotes stability and long term success.
About the Department of Economic Security Division of Child Support Services
The Arizona Department of Economic Security Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) leads statewide efforts to place children first. DCSS offers assistance to establish paternity, set support orders, enforce payments and modify orders when circumstances change. Case managers work with families to resolve issues fairly and efficiently. All services are provided at no cost to custodial parents.
