An evening with Marthe Cohn: Behind Enemy Lines

Behind Enemy Lines: The True Story of a French Jewish Spy in Nazi Germany

Presented by Chabad Oro Valley & the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona – Northwest Division

Tucson’s northwest Jewish community is proud to host the annual collaborative event, “Behind Enemy Lines: The True Story of a French Jewish Spy in Nazi Germany,” at 4 p.m. at the Country Club of La Cholla. The event is jointly hosted by Chabad Oro Valley and the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona’s Northwest Division.

Marthe Cohn, the guest of honor and speaker, was awarded the Médaille Militaire, France’s highest military distinction, for her service in helping defeat Nazi Germany. As Nazi occupation intensified across France, Marthe bravely joined the French Army’s intelligence services. With her flawless German accent and blonde hair, she posed as a young German nurse in search of her fictional fiancé. In reality, she was collecting critical information on Nazi troop movements and relaying it to Allied commanders.

Refreshments will be served, and books will be available for purchase and signing. A $10 suggested donation is encouraged for all attendees.
