Oro Valley Celebrates 50 Years with Community Spirit
The Town of Oro Valley recently marked its 50th anniversary with a flurry of celebrations that brought together residents, businesses, and community groups. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for these memorable events!
On April 6, the festivities kicked off with a lively parade along Naranja Drive. More than 90 groups, including schools and local organizations, paraded down the street, cheered on by enthusiastic spectators. If you missed the parade or want to relive the excitement, you can check out the video on Oro Valley’s website. Just search for “PARADE VIDEO.”
The fun didn’t stop there! On April 13, our community gathered at James D. Kriegh Park for a fabulous day of celebrations. With jumping castles, delicious eats from food trucks, and stunning fireworks, it was a day to remember. The event featured performances by local favorites like Erika and Nico, Chalako the Band, and the talented crew from Centre Stage Dance Studio. The night rocked on with Voyager, Arizona’s top Journey cover band.
For those eager to keep the 50th-anniversary celebrations rolling, there’s good news! Our celebration continues all year long. For updates and details on future events, visit the OV 50th web page regularly.
Once again, thank you to everyone who helped make these events a success, including our community sponsors and Tucson Local Media, our official print sponsor. Oro Valley has thrived since its incorporation on April 15, 1974, and with community spirit like this, the future looks bright!
