Oro Valley Latest Covid 19 Response Updates

Oro Valley’s Latest COVID-19 Response & Updates

Oro Valley Takes Precautions Against COVID-19

The Town of Oro Valley is acting with care to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. These measures are in place until April 1, 2020, during which town officials, in partnership with the Pima County Health Department and Arizona Department of Health Services, will keep a close eye on the situation.

Event Changes

Several town-managed events have been canceled. However, some privately organized events, like the Heirloom Farmers Market at Steam Pump Ranch, are still going ahead. For questions about these events, it’s best to reach out to the organizers directly.

Public Meetings

Town Council meetings on March 18 and April 1 will still happen, but you can’t attend in person. Instead, you can watch them online at orovalleyaz.gov. The town is working on ways for people to participate online. More details will be shared once they’re ready. The March 19 Stormwater Utility Commission meeting, however, is canceled.

Community and Recreation Center

Good news—the Oro Valley Community and Recreation Center, along with the Oro Valley Aquatic Center, El Conquistador Golf, and Overlook Restaurant, remain open. They’re operating as usual but with extra cleaning efforts. Remember, the best way to stay healthy is by practicing good hygiene, much like avoiding the flu.

Transportation Services

Transportation via the Sun Shuttle Dial-A-Ride program will continue. Staff are ensuring that vehicles are thoroughly cleaned. If you’re feeling unwell and need a ride to the doctor, call 520-229-4990 ahead of time so they can take special precautions.

Cancellations and Refunds

The town understands if you’re hesitant to participate in public classes or programs right now. You can cancel your facility reservations or program registrations scheduled within the next 30 days until April 11, 2020, and get a full refund without any fees.

Making Payments

To reduce the risk of spreading the virus, online payments are encouraged instead of going to the office. If you need to make payments to the Town of Oro Valley or the Oro Valley Water Utility, head over to orovalleyaz.gov and click on “Online Services” in the top right corner.

Looking Ahead

Town Manager Mary Jacobs shares, “We know these are uncertain times for our community, families, and loved ones. We’re committed to minimizing the risk of spreading COVID-19 while keeping our services available. Let’s stay calm and support each other as we navigate this together.”

As the situation develops, the Town of Oro Valley will continue following guidance from health experts. Stay informed by visiting the town’s website, following us on Facebook and Twitter, or signing up for email alerts. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to Ask Oro Valley.
