Tangerine Road Paving Starts Post-Memorial Day in Oro Valley

Tangerine Road Paving Work Alert

A heads-up for all drivers and residents in Oro Valley: Starting Tuesday, May 29, final paving operations will take place along Tangerine Road. This work stretches from just east of the Thornydale Road intersection to a little west of La Cañada Drive. The crew will be out there Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., aiming to wrap things up by Friday, June 15, 2018.

Expect delays during the paving times and plan your travels accordingly. Remember, the schedule might change because of weather or equipment issues.

Here’s how the work is planned:

May 29 – May 31:
They’ll be paving the outer lanes in both directions on Tangerine Road.

June 1 and June 4:
Next up are the inside lanes, following the same path from east of Thornydale to west of La Cañada.

June 5 – June 7:
Crews will handle the median turn lanes along the same stretch of Tangerine Road.

June 8:
Between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., work shifts to the Tangerine Road and La Cholla Boulevard intersection. They’ll finish the final pavement for the turn lanes and the center of the intersection. Traffic will be rerouted, but officers will be there to guide you. Businesses will still be accessible.

June 11 and June 12:
Finally, paving will happen on La Cholla Boulevard heading north and south up to Tangerine Road. There will be some temporary restrictions, but business access remains open.
