Gather your family and friends for a fun day at Naranja Park on Saturday, February 10! We’re celebrating the opening of Fields 3 and 4 at 810 W. Naranja Drive. The festivities kick off at 10:15 a.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Mayor Hiremath, along with councilmembers and Town staff.
Right after the ceremony, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, the park will come alive with games and activities perfect for all ages. Local sports organizations will set up booths where you can sign up for leagues, get information, or even try out some sports gear. Don’t miss the Oro Valley Sports Alliance raffle either! Join in on any of the free activities and challenges to earn a raffle ticket for a chance to win prizes from local businesses.
Finance Director Stacey Lemos shared her excitement, saying, “The completion of these fields and lighting means we are moving forward with the Town’s pay-as-you-go approach to developing Naranja Park.”
These new fields are part of a project funded through the Town’s Capital Improvement Program, first approved in the FY 2016/17 budget and carried over to the FY 2017/18 budget to finish the work.
Naranja Park now boasts four multi-sport fields, two dog parks, paved parking, restrooms, hiking trails, and archery ranges. There’s something for everyone to enjoy!
