Persistent Burglar Strikes Again in Oro Valley

Attempted Burglary Report in Oro Valley

On August 19, 2018, the Oro Valley Police Department received a report of an attempted burglary on North Northern Avenue, around the 7400 block. The homeowner noticed some suspicious signs, including an open front gate and shed, alongside bolt cutters left behind. Fortunately, no one entered the home, although the security system had been tampered with.

Reviewing footage from his surveillance cameras, the homeowner realized that someone had tried to break in a few days earlier, on August 16. It looks like the intruder may have returned between those dates, as a cut fence and a knife were found.

The suspect is described as a White male wearing a white or grey tank top, dark pants, a black cap, and a scarf or balaclava around his neck. He was also seen carrying a backpack and appears to have a gun tucked in his waistband.

If you have any information, please contact Detective Helvig at 520-229-4900 or reach out to 88-CRIME. If you spot this individual, do not approach; instead, call 911 immediately.
