Oro Valley Delays Focus Meetings at Applicant’s Request

Vistoso Golf Course Meetings Put on Hold

The Town of Oro Valley has decided to delay four meetings about the proposed changes to Vistoso Golf Course. This decision comes at the request of the property owner, Romspen, following discussions at the June 3 Town Council meeting. Romspen asked for a 30-day postponement to explore options for the former golf course.

This extra time will let the Town, Romspen, and the Conservation Fund carefully consider their choices. Romspen also wants this period to review their application thoroughly. It’s important to note that these meetings aren’t canceled; they’re simply on pause until further notice.

During this 30-day break, Romspen will decide whether to modify, proceed with, or withdraw their application. After Romspen makes their decision, the Town will set new dates for the neighborhood meetings, aiming for late July. If Romspen withdraws their application, the public engagement process would end since there’d be no application to discuss.

The announcement of this postponement was made during the Focus Area #1 Meeting on Thursday, June 4. The meeting, hosted by the Town’s Planning Team, informed viewers about the delay and included an update from Romspen’s representative. You can watch the video of the announcement and update here.
