Tragic Accident Investigated by Oro Valley Police
Our local community is mourning after a tragic accident last night at Moore Road and Zircon Lane. The Oro Valley Police Department (OVPD) is currently investigating the incident, which took place on July 13, 2019, around 9:00 p.m.
Officers arrived to find a serious head-on collision involving two vehicles. A male victim was found outside his vehicle and was quickly transported to Banner University Medical Center. Sadly, a female victim was trapped inside her car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The OVPD Traffic Unit is working hard to determine what led to this unfortunate crash. So far, the male driver showed no signs of impairment, and no citations have been issued. The identity of the female victim will be shared once her family has been notified.
Chief Sharp, along with the responding officers and the Golder Ranch Fire District, extend their heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. Incidents like this remind us all of the importance of road safety.
