Oro Valley Town Manager Search Narrows to Two Finalists
The search for Oro Valley’s new town manager is heating up! After months of hard work, the Town Council, with help from Ralph Andersen & Associates, has narrowed down their choices to two outstanding finalists. This effort began last September when the hunt kicked off to find a successor to former Town Manager Mary Jacobs. In the meantime, Deputy Town Manager Chris Cornelison has been holding the fort as interim town manager.
Next week, from April 12-14, these two finalists will be meeting with the Town Council, executive staff, and a panel of community members for interviews. Stay tuned, as the town will soon announce how you can meet the finalists and share your thoughts.
Here’s a bit about the candidates:
Jeff Wilkins
Jeff Wilkins has a solid background in administration and finance. Most recently, he worked as the Director of Administration and Treasurer at the Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio for about five years. Before that, he spent over 15 years as the County Administrator of Kendall County, Illinois. Jeff holds a master’s degree in public affairs from Indiana University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from DePauw University.
Larry Dorr
Larry Dorr is currently the Deputy City Manager and CFO in Westminster, Colorado, a role he’s held for the past three years. Prior to that, he served as the Director of Finance and City Treasurer for Lakewood, Colorado, for about 16 years. Larry earned his MBA from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Irvine.
Keep an eye out for more details on how you can get involved and voice your opinion in this important community decision.
