Opening of Moore/La Cañada Roundabout Delayed by Rain

Roundabout Opening Delayed Due to Weather

The Town of Oro Valley has announced a change in plans for the reopening of the Moore Road/La Cañada Drive roundabout. Initially set to be completed by November 22, the intersection’s reopening will now be delayed until the afternoon of Wednesday, November 27, due to expected heavy rainfall in the area.

Borderland Construction, the contractor in charge, was on track to meet the original deadline. However, the rain will postpone the road striping needed to finalize the intersection. The team will have to wait for the storm to pass and for the area to dry out before applying the necessary paint.

Assuming the weather allows, the striping is planned for November 25 and 26. Once that work is done and the site is cleaned up, the roundabout will open to traffic. Please note that this schedule is subject to change based on weather conditions.

Until the barricades are removed, the Moore/La Cañada intersection will remain closed to vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians. For those unfamiliar with using a roundabout, the Town has prepared a helpful video guide. You can watch it here.
