Oro Valley Celebrates Constitution Week
This year marks a special milestone for our nation. On September 17, 2022, we commemorate the 235th anniversary of the drafting of the U.S. Constitution by the Constitutional Convention. It’s a time to honor this historic document and the rights it protects, with celebrations planned throughout the community.
Every year, a presidential proclamation designates September 17 through 23 as Constitution Week, as established by Public Law 915. This week provides an opportunity for all of us to reflect on the freedoms and ideals our Founding Fathers enshrined in 1787.
Mayor Joseph C. Winfield has officially proclaimed this week as Constitution Week in Oro Valley. He encourages all residents to reaffirm the values of the Constitution and to remember the importance of safeguarding these rights. Once lost, they may be difficult to regain.
Join your fellow community members in celebrating our nation’s rich history and the liberties we cherish. Keep an eye out for local events and activities tailored to this momentous occasion.
