New Online System for Oro Valley Business Owners
The Town of Oro Valley’s Community and Economic Development Department has some exciting news for local business folks! They’ve rolled out a new, user-friendly software called SmartGov. This tool is all about making life easier for business owners, developers, and contractors when it comes to applying for or renewing business licenses and tracking development projects.
SmartGov is here to replace the old system for handling permits, inspections, and business licenses. The new online portal offers a handy dashboard that lets you keep an eye on your applications and permits as they move along in real time.
This new system is set to save time and money for both town staff and customers. With SmartGov, contractors can kick off projects quicker since the staff can now process permits faster. The system also allows for quicker permit tracking and inspection reviews. Plus, there’s a cool feature where you can start a permit application just by clicking on a map address instead of typing it all out.
Paul Melcher, the Community and Economic Development Director, shared his thoughts: “Our goal is to offer reliable and consistent customer service, from the start of a development to issuing a Certificate of Occupancy. SmartGov is a great tool for users due to its intuitive nature and improved project management capabilities.”
To get started with SmartGov, all users need to create an online portal account. New users can set up their accounts here. If you already have an account, the department will provide an access code to link your existing applications and permits. Just give them a call at 520-229-4800 for your code.
