OVPD Secures Grant to Tackle DUI and Speeding in Oro Valley

The Oro Valley Police Department (OVPD) has some great news for our community! Thanks to a generous $30,000 grant from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, they’ll be beefing up their efforts to keep our roads safe from impaired drivers. This funding, specifically for overtime, is for the 2019 fiscal year and will help support the OVPD’s work with the Southern Arizona DUI Task Force.

OVPD is dedicated to reducing crimes related to drug and alcohol abuse and aims to prevent injuries and fatalities caused by speeding, reckless driving, and distracted driving. Their ongoing efforts are crucial in making our roads safer for everyone.

A big thank you goes out to the AZGOHS Director, Alberto Gutier, and his team for their partnership and ongoing support. It’s this kind of collaboration that makes a real difference in our community.

If you have any questions or concerns about this announcement or any traffic-related issues in Oro Valley, feel free to reach out to Lt. John Teachout at 229-4923. He’s there to help!
