Get ready for some holiday cheer in Oro Valley! On December 11, 2018, at 2:00 p.m., the Oro Valley Police Department (OVPD) and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 53 are teaming up for their annual “Shop with a Cop” event. It’s a heartwarming day where police officers, Town Council members, and town staff join local students for a special shopping trip. This year, they’ll be heading to the Target at 10555 N. Oracle Road.
The students, chosen by teachers and school counselors from Oro Valley schools, are in need of a little extra support during the holiday season. It’s all about spreading joy and bringing smiles to young faces.
Adding to the spirit of giving, the Greater Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce is pitching in with a $450 donation to help cover costs. Chamber president and CEO Dave Perry shared, “Every child deserves a holiday of hope and joy. Our Chamber and its members are happy to brighten the season for children in need.”
This event is a wonderful example of our community coming together to make a difference.
