Oro Valley: Shannon Road Upgrade Starts February 21

Get Ready for Shannon Road Improvements

Starting February 21, Oro Valley will kick off the road improvement project on Shannon Road. This important work will run from Lambert Lane to Naranja Drive. During construction, expect a single lane of traffic and reduced speeds of 25 mph. Be prepared for some delays, but take heart—the project aims to wrap up by April 14.

Contractor KE&G is set to revamp the road by pulverizing the old asphalt, regrading, and laying down fresh pavement. Once finished, the stretch will not only be smoother but also more cost-effective, thanks to lower maintenance needs.

What Drivers Need to Know

Throughout the project, from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Shannon Road will operate with just one lane open. Either a flagger or a pilot car will guide the traffic, so please anticipate some delays. Once the crews wrap up for the day, two lanes will reopen for travel. Keep in mind, however, that the 25 mph speed limit will still apply.

Please drive carefully, watch out for construction signs, and be mindful of crews and equipment. Message boards will be up ahead of the construction zone to remind everyone to slow down and stay alert.

Your patience is appreciated as we work to enhance Shannon Road for everyone.
